Two blood drives to be held at hospital
Mercy Regional Medical Center has scheduled two blood drives in December.
A bloodmobile will park near the healing garden at the center in Grandview on Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There are 36 slots available.
On Dec. 18, blood donors are asked to report to Conference Room A near the cafeteria from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Eighteen slots are available.
Appointments can be made by calling Kathy Kane, the medical center’s blood drive coordinator, at 764-1170. Kane also can field questions about the blood drives.
All donors will receive a $5 gift certificate for the Merciful Mug coffee/sandwich bar at the medical center.
After the second drive, a gift certificate valued at $55 for a comprehensive blood test will be raffled among all donors.
In the past, Mercy blood drives counted on mainly employees, Kane said. The recent closure of the United Blood Services office in Durango prompted Mercy to open its blood drives to the public, she said.
