My wife and I stayed in Durango the last full week of May. As a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran we were able to ride the Veterans Train, to the Memorial Day ceremonies in Silverton at no charge.
We wanted to thank all the people of Durango & Silverton for their very kind hospitality and efforts for the Veterans Train and the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. My wife and I will always have a wonderful memory of our trip.
Thanks are especially due to the staff of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and all the volunteers. Thanks also to all the staff and volunteers in Silverton for the great Memorial Day program.
