Kavanaugh, the identity politics scam

The Oct. 20 online Herald carried a story by Anna V. Smith of High Country News, “Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s impact on Indian Country.”

I watched the hearings and was particularly interested in the rude questioning of the senator from Hawaii on Rice vs. Cayetano. This case contends that it was unconstitutional to require Native Hawaiian ancestry in order to vote for trustees for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.

Probably the most interesting quote in the story is from a 1999 interview. Kavanaugh says, “This case is one more step along the way in what I see as an inevitable conclusion within the next 10 to 20 years when the court says we are all one race in the eyes of the government.”

No wonder the progressives were so much against the nomination; this blows holes large enough to drive a semi through the identity politics scam.
