Care coordination mini-summit is June 4
The Citizens Health Advisory Council will host a “Care Coordination Mini-Summit” from 7 to 8:30 a.m. June 4 in the Eolus Room at Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
The mini-summit will feature an interactive panel updating the audience about where the care-coordination effort stands in La Plata County. The panel will include: Vanessa Boyd, care-coordination services manager at San Juan Basin Health Department; Katrina Lennex, adult-behavioral health therapist at Axis Health System.; Will McConnell, chief quality officer, vice president of operations/quality at Mercy Regional Medical Center; Jenny Nate, senior communities strategy leader at Rocky Mountain Health Plans; and Karen Zink of Southwest Women’s Health Associates.

Centura Health launches new app
Centura Health, parent company of Mercy Regional Medical Center, has launched a new app that encourages an active lifestyle by allowing everyone to compete for better health.
The app rewards users with points and achievement badges by tracking their daily movements in the background of their smartphone. The app also rewards users for moving with chances to win prizes such as a cruiser bike and helmet, in-home exercise video game system package, a yoga package or a Visa gift card.
