Foul trouble cost the Bayfield High School girls basketball team in a hurry Tuesday.
Bloomfield High School shot 41 free throws, two Bayfield players fouled out, and the Wolverines fell 68-29 at home to the Bloomfield Bobcats on Tuesday at home.
Courtney Bayles and Savannah Kaufman each scored six points for Bayfield (1-1). Kyle Baker, Jade Sanders and Chloe Weybreight each had four in the loss.
Taylor Morris and Kaufman both fouled out in the game. The Wolverines went 5-of-14 at the free-throw line, while the Bobcats (4-1) went 19-of-41.
Halle Payne led the Bobcats with 16 points with eight in the first quarter. Destiny Walter added another 12 points for the Bobcats.
The Wolverines trailed 16-4 after one quarter and 34-10 at halftime.
Next for BHS is a trip to Buena Vista for a tournament.
