COLORADO SPRINGS – Three employees at a Colorado nursing home have been charged after a 90-year-old woman was found dead on a bench in below-freezing temperatures earlier this year, police said Thursday.
Rosalie Warren, a nurse at Union Printers Home in Colorado Springs, was charged with a felony count of negligent death of an at-risk person and a misdemeanor count of neglect of an at-risk person, police said.
Additional details regarding the allegations against Warren were not available and her arrest affidavit was sealed, The Gazette reported.
Two nursing assistants at the home, Asia Murray and Taquenis Eldridge, face misdemeanor counts of neglecting an at-risk person, police said.
The nursing home was forced to close and more than 100 seniors were left to find other housing after the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment suspended its license in March.
The suspension occurred after a complaint about the death and came after a history of noncompliance with state health regulations, the Gazette reported.
A federal report had also accused the nursing home of failing to adequately supervise the woman during the time before her death.
Warren’s attorney Andrew Bryant declined to comment to the Gazette and no attorneys were listed in online court records for Murray or Eldridge.
