Farmington medical center to hold fair, 5K run

Free blood pressure checks will be offered Feb. 11 at San Juan Regional Medical Center’s “A Fair of the Heart and Goosebump Race.”

San Juan Regional Medical Center’s ninth annual “A Fair of the Heart and Goosebump Race” will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, at San Juan Regional Heart Center, 407 South Schwartz Ave. in Farmington.

The fair will be run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Goosebump Race, a timed 5K race and one-mile fun run, will start at 11 a.m.

Free online registration for the race is available until 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, and includes a shirt and race packet. To register, visit www.sanjuanregional.com/afairoftheheart.

Fair participants will receive several free screenings including baseline EKGs, blood pressure checks, body mass index measurements, target heart-rate calculations and risk assessments for peripheral vascular disease. They will also have the opportunity to meet cardiologists, electrophysiologists and pulmonologists.

Free CPR and AED training classes will be available for fair attendees 12 and older.
