Adding insult to injury, The Durango Herald has not only cut down its service to four days a week (without a corresponding reduction in subscription rate), but now it’s recycling news.
See Debra Van Winegarden’s Horse Gulch article from both April 1 and April 3. An editor’s note says it’s being reprinted due to “production problems.”
So much for the much-touted efficiencies the Herald alleged from a reduced publication schedule.

Editor’s note: The letter-writer is correct – the article was reprinted on April 3, but a continuing production problem resulted in another black and white page. See Van Winegarden’s next Outdoors feature, in full color, on April 22.
