Mark your calendar. The Four Corners is so lucky to have the nationally renowned activist Chuck Collins coming to Durango in October.
La Plata County Thrive! Living Wage Coalition, in conjunction with Life Long Learning, will host Mr. Collins for two days of talks and meetings, October 4-6.
Mr. Collins is an expert in the field of income inequality. He is an author, a senior scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies and a former “one-percenter.” He has been working to reduce inequality and strengthen communities.
We are looking forward to Chuck presenting ways that we here in the Four Corners can address inequality in our communities.
The American dream assures us, that if you work hard and play by the rules, you will succeed. But the facts tell a different story: Everyone knows the system is rigged. In these trickle-down times, income inequality threatens to pit the 99 percent against the 1 percent.
