Edgemont Highlands fence is a killer

The families of Edgemont Highlands are dealing with the approval of oversize fencing (7-9 foot high) to keep the deer from eating prize flowers and keep wildlife out.

The fencing approved is a metal mesh fencing very dangerous for the wildlife, not only the deer but the birds who don’t see the fence and get caught in the metal mesh and die. Northern flickers, downy woodpeckers and hummingbirds all have been found dead near or in the metal fencing – all to save flowers planted in the enclosed area.

We had three big mule deer (10-12 points ) we haven’t seen since the fence went up.

I think the public would like to know more about the homeowners rights with HOAs in Durango. This would be a great example.
