Do you believe we should support the men and women serving in the U.S. military – the people Rep. Scott Tipton and Sen. Cory Gardner are now showering with praise in their campaign letters asking for money?
I support them. I also believe that we owe them good schools, health clinics and child development centers for their kids. We owe them safe places to work – funds to properly store or destroy hazardous waste, functional fire and rescue stations and refurbished artillery ranges.
President Trump is taking money out of the military budget for these very items to buy a few dozen miles of border wall. Colorado alone is losing more than $8 million, and states all across the nation are also being impacted.
And Tipton and Gardner are letting him do it. They have failed to stand up for Colorado, the Constitution and our military families, just to please Trump and his vanity wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for.
Colorado: We can do better than this.
