About proposed hotel on Camino del Rio

I will share intimate conversations from our home directly related to the three-story proposed hotel on Camino del Rio (Herald, Jan. 11) adjacent to my favorite Natural Grocers and directly across the street from busy South City Market, Kroegers Ace Hardware, Rite Aid, Wagon Wheel, etc.

Q: Glad you’re home early, perfect timing! Where’s the rice?

A: No rice. I couldn’t turn into the store again; no one would let me in. You know there’s no light.

Q: Welcome home! Hope you didn’t forget the spinach and shallots?

A: Yes and no. I didn’t forget, but I was creating a traffic jam waiting to turn into the store. I’m sorry.

Q: How was your day? Did you remember the great sale on your favorite crackers?

A: Thanks for asking. Had a great day, and forget the crackers. I couldn’t turn in again and figured I’d never be able to turn out to come home. Circling through the parking mazes across the street to drive north is craziness.

Q: Happy weekend! Did they have any Mary’s chickens left?

A: I don’t know, and you know why. Again, I’m sorry.

Let us please catch up on the vital present concerns for daily public safety for the residents of special Durango, and not focus on seasonal weekend visitors who already have a plethora of accommodation choices at hand.

Just sayin’.
