The Community Health Action Coalition will hold two free workshops about Advance Care Planning, which is the process of expressing and documenting wishes for future health care decisions.
The Durango workshop will be held from 8:45 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave. Register by Monday by calling 884-2355 or emailing kathy@chaclaplata.org.The Bayfield workshop will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive. Register by Tuesday by calling 884-2222, ext. 510.The workshops will help participants understand medical durable power of attorney and living wills.
Presenters will address why everyone needs to complete these documents, considerations for end-of-life care, how to talk with your loved ones, putting it all in writing and what to do with the documents.
Medical and legal experts will answer questions. Participants will be able to complete advance directives.
