100 Years Ago: Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Stookey of Hesperus departed for their old home in Wilkesbarre, Pennsylvania, to visit relatives.

75 Years Ago: There were musical numbers and two talks, “Founder’s day” and “American Literature,” held at Fort Lewis College. A tour of the grounds concluded the event.

50 Years Ago: Fort Lewis College received a $62,178 grant from the Office of Economic Opportunity to be used for training 50 students in the “Upward Bound program.”

25 Years Ago: There was a mobile home fire at 6 Pinion Drive in the Golden West Trailer Park. Animas Fire Protection District authorities reported damages were caused by a fire that spread to the outside through a hole in the wall.
