Animas High graduating class exceptional

With graduation just around the corner, I want to take a moment to recognize the 2014 Animas High school graduating class. Durango should be proud to know that we are sending such well-educated, motivated, critical thinkers out into the world. Ours has been the go-to house for the last four years, and we’ve fed lots of mouths. Nurturing, supporting and watching these kids come into their own has been an absolute pleasure. One day in particular, we had 15 kids around our kitchen with their laptops working on a chemistry lab. The impressive part of the story is that it was their day off. If this is the generation running our companies, governments and organizations, we are in good hands for the future. Thank you, AHS seniors, for letting me be part of your high school years and allowing me to play that second-mom role. It’s been an amazing experience, and I love you all dearly. I can’t wait to see what you do next. And, to the AHS staff, congratulations on a job well-done.
