Animas River Stakeholders Group will hold a dedication ceremony of an ARSG memorial at 2 p.m. Friday on the bank of the Animas River in Silverton downstream of the Cement Creek confluence. This may be accessed by 10th Street beyond the train depot.
In response to the conclusion of the ARSG’s tenure, members of the group honored the 25 years of commitment by ARSG and its founders, Bill Simon, Peter Butler and Steve Fearn, by building a permanent memorial. Members of ARSG secured financial donations, a space and an artist.
Drinks and light refreshments will be served in a COVID-19-safe manner.
