‘Asking for little help never granted’

Unfortunate end results for missing Rich Moore of Pagosa Springs, but glad his body and his dog have finally been found and, amazingly, the dog is still alive.

I was in Pagosa right after this had happened and seen it in The Pagosa Sun.

Not familiar with and having no idea of where the peaks that were mentioned were located, I Googled them. When the sites came up, it had an area to leave a review as many Google sites do. In trying to get the word out and draw people’s attention to the search areas, I basically posted all the exact same information on the review portions as in the Sun to draw attention to the efforts, mostly so if incoming hunters were reviewing the areas.

Trying to bring more attention to the situation, I sent a letter to the editor of The Durango Herald on what I had done and to try to help get the word out, hoping folks would look at the search areas.

At the time, I had recently submitted other letters to the editor and was told they would not post it because I had exceeded my limit for the current period. After the reply from them, I replied back that it could possibly help in saving someone’s life and, unfortunately, it was never printed.

With hearing the end results of the situation, it’s disappointing that asking for a little help was never granted. Shame on The Durango Herald.
