Author Scott Thybony will talk about his latest book, The Disappearances: A Story of Exploration, Murder, and Mystery in the American West, at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Student Union Ballroom at Fort Lewis College.
The book tells three stories of people who disappeared in to the canyons of southeastern Utah in 1935. Thybony has written articles for magazines such as National Geographic and Outside. His other books include Burntwater and Canyon Country.
The free talk, and an author meet-and-greet that begins at 6:30 p.m., are hosted by the Center of Southwest Studies. A question-and-answer session will follow the talk.
