A Bayfield man who was serving 180 days at the La Plata County Jail walked away from his work-release program Thursday and is considered an escapee.
Timothy Chester Sobley, 48, was convicted of several misdemeanors, including drunken driving, driving under restraint and violation of bail conditions, according to a news release issued by the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office. He also had pending domestic-violence charges and an active warrant out of Arizona, the release said.
Chester walked away from his job at the Durango Food Bank, 194 Bodo Drive.
“Efforts to locate Sobley have not been successful as of about 4:30 p.m. Thursday,” the release said.
He is described as 5 feet 8 inches, 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He recently shaved off his beard shown in a recent photo.
Anyone with information of Sobley’s whereabouts is asked to call dispatch at (970) 385-2900.
