Now it’s official: Colter McMenimen is one of the top wrestlers in the Intermountain League.

The Bayfield High School junior was named to the All-IML First Team on Monday after losing in the Class 3A third-round consolation match at the Colorado High School Activities Association state tournament in February.

McMenimen finished the year at 33-3 wrestling at 138 pounds.

BHS’ other state participant, freshman Ryan Nava, was given an honorable mention.

He also advanced to the Class 3A third round consolation match at state before losing at 120 pounds.

Nava compiled a 27-6 record during the season.

Centauri’s Jareb Aziz and Jason Buhr and Monte Vista’s Diondre Garcia were named the league’s Outstanding Wrestlers.

Centauri’s Cahlen Keys and John Sheridan were named the league’s Coaches of the Year.
