STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — As more than 10,000 visitors pour into Steamboat Springs ahead of New Year's weekend, the Boys and Girls Club is stepping up to help parents get to work.
The Steamboat Pilot & Today reports (http://bit.ly/2ifzrYy ) that with resort workers pulling overtime and kids on break from school, the Boys and Girls Club of Steamboat Springs is offering $1 an hour childcare to all through Jan. 6.
When school is in session, the club offers after-school programming until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for an annual fee of $25.
Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Dana Duran says it's important the club is accessible to families so kids aren't cooped up or unsupervised at home.
