Build a Better Bayfield on Thursday

Looking for a Bayfield-area job? Need employees?

How about activities for kids?

What started as a job fair has grown into a combination of business and community expo, recreational and performing arts programs and more.

The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Pine River Library in Bayfield. All are welcome, and donations to local food banks will earn participants chances to win door prizes.

The driving force behind the expo is Rhonda Kline, owner of IWC Worker Bees, an employment agency she opened in Bayfield earlier this year.

Kline wanted to host a free job fair for both job-seekers and employers, but more and more people asked to join in, so the concept evolved into a community expo.

The library, Bayfield Chamber of Commerce, Pine River Shares and the town of Bayfield are sponsors. The Upper Pine River Fire Protection District is bringing a fire truck to show kids at the event.

More than 30 businesses are set to participate.
