Charter Communications customers experienced a seven-hour outage Wednesday while crews repaired damaged network fiber.

“Charter Communications performed repairs today on network fiber that was vandalized and damaged,” said Bret Picciolo, director of communications-Northwest for Charter in an email statement. “Those repairs have been completed and services in the area have been restored. We apologize to our customers who were affected.”

Picciolo said service was interrupted from about 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Lt. Ray Shupe of the Durango Police Department and Dan Bender from the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office said their agencies had not received any reports on the vandalism.
