Cheryl Ann Ireland

Cheryl Ann Ireland, 67, died Friday, April 25, 2014, at home in Bayfield. A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at Pine River Cemetery. Pastor Randy Ash of First Baptist Church officiated. Cheryl was born October 23, 1946 in Orange, California, the daughter of Jack and Charlcia Gentry. Cheryl was a self-described "army brat", who saw the world as she followed her father's career in the U.S. Army. She returned to Orange for her senior year of high school.

Later, Cheryl and a friend made a move to Hawaii for 18 months. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she would eventually meet Ronald, her husband. Ronald and Cheryl were married on April 20th, 1974 in Tempe, Arizona.

Cheryl was an active member of the Tatum Boulevard Church of Christ in Scottsdale, Arizona. Cheryl celebrated life and her family every day.

She is survived by her husband of Bayfield; mother Charlcia Gentry of Tucson, Ariz.; children Shasta Peet of Gilbert, Ariz., Nicholas Ireland of San Antonio, Jarrette Ireland of Bayfield, and three grandchildren: Bridgette, Lydia and Elijah. She also is survived by her sister, Shannon Sears of Tucson and a brother, David Gentry. She was preceded in death by her father, Col. Jack Gentry, and a brother, Steve Gentry.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Operation Christmas Child, a program through Samaritan's Purse.
