City of Durango announces Thanksgiving holiday schedule

The city of Durango announces its schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday.

City administrative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. This includes City Hall, River City Hall, Police Station and Substation, Transit Center, Greenmount Cemetery and Parks and Recreation administrative offices.The recreation center and Chapman Hill will be closed Thursday but will reopen Friday. Because of COVID-19, reservations are required. There will be no classes at Durango Gymnastics Monday to Friday.Durango Public Library will be closed Thursday and Friday. It will reopen for curbside-only service from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.Durango-La Plata County Airport will be open with regularly scheduled commercial service through Thanksgiving weekend. Travelers are encouraged to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure. Airport administrative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.Durango Transit will not operate Thursday and Friday. Trolleys and buses will resume service Saturday.There will be no commercial or residential trash or recycling service Thursday. Thursday’s commercial trash and recycling will be picked up Friday. Thursday’s residential curbside trash will be picked up Friday. Thursday’s residential curbside recycling will be picked up Dec. 3. The Recycle Center will be closed Thursday and Friday and will reopen from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.Parking at meters downtown will be free Thursday.
