City of Durango seeks public input on draft Sustainability Plan strategies and actions

The city of Durango is in the process of updating its Sustainability Plan and seeks public input about draft plan strategies and actions through a series of virtual workshops.

Each workshop will focus on a different plan sector. Meetings start at 5:30 p.m. and will be held virtually on these dates:

  • Aug. 12: Sustainable consumption and waste.
  • Aug. 19: Economic vitality and quality of life.
  • Aug. 24: Water.
  • Aug. 31: Energy.
  • Sept. 14: Transportation and land use.
  • Sept. 23: Natural systems.

To join a workshop, visit www.DurangoGov.org/Zoom.

The workshops will provide an overview of the Sustainability Plan process so far and the vision, strategies, actions and key metrics for the sector being covered. Staff members will also seek input from community members to help refine and prioritize actions for inclusion in the final plan document.

The draft strategies and actions were developed by city staff members with community input from a July 2020 survey. In addition, a Stakeholder Working Group continues to meet regularly to inform development of the Sustainability Plan.
