Jeff Mannix hits the bull’s-eye at the end of the story about the local gun club living off local government subsidies (Herald, March 9) and whether this is appropriate since it will now in effect be a local chapter of the NRA: Buy your own land, build your facilities and you can do whatever you want with your club. It is ironic the local gun fanatics I know who use the range are tea party members who bemoan government handouts.
