In keeping with the technology revolution, last week I hashtagged, so this week I was told of a very fun and very impressive challenge posted on YouTube between Rory Mcllroy and Jeff the Robot driving machine.

This particular 3-minutes-plus demonstration pitted Wonder Boy against the iron machine. I won’t spoil the moments, but I will tell you one stunt forced the twosome to hit the open door of an elevated front-loading washer.

You can guess who won that challenge. Or can you?

You will just have to Google the YouTube clip and enter Rory vs. The Robot and see for yourself. And, while at the same site, check out the top five greatest shots by Tiger Woods – very impressive, memorable.

Hillcrest Golf Club will return to tournament play Saturday and Sunday with the Ska Brewing-Hillcrest Club Championships. Both the men’s and women’s club championships will be decided this weekend.

There will be 36 holes of stroke play with a $1,000-plus prize purse. There will be gross and net prizes awarded in flights.

Tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. both days.

I wanted to slip in a mention of a very important tournament being played at the 9-hole South Forty Course on Saturday in Cortez: the sixth annual Medicine Horse Masters.

The entry fee is $25 per person for a four-person scramble. Proceeds will go to the Medicine Horse Equine Assisted Therapy Programs for area families and youth. The entry fee includes drinks, lunch and nine holes of golf.

They would love to have you pre-register by calling 533-7403, or you can show up at 8 a.m. Saturday with a shotgun start at 8:30.
