Clubhouse Porch

I stepped out onto my porch earlier this week and saw the opening touches of fall hitting my ash trees – the red and yellow colors have come out of hiding, and the dark red scrub oak are not far behind; I knew then it was getting close to wrapping things up for the season.

The Hillcrest Women’s Golf Association Beat the Pro (John Vickers, 66 for 18 holes) and Club Champion (Daphne D’Agostino, 33 for 9 holes), Sept. 1:

There were five twosomes that beat the 66, with Bev Ellis and Anna Wilson teaming for the lowest score of 58.

D’Agostino’s score held up for the 9-hole event.

Hillcrest still has a few more events in the coming weeks, and now that the unofficial summer is over, tee times should be easier to obtain:

The inaugural Shootout on the Hill – a fundraiser for the Durango Area Youth Hockey Association – at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Dave Peterson Memorial 3 Clubs and a Putter Tournament will be held Sept. 27.

The Coldwell Banker Heritage House Realtors-Todd Sieger Shootout on Oct. 4.
