Colorado will get picked up on the radar this week with the third leg of the FedExCup playoffs – the BMW Championship – at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Englewood.
This stop, with its 70 invitees, does not have a cut after the first two rounds, which makes for an interesting 72-hole tournament. All eyes will be on the top contenders, but I still wished one golfer would have been healthy enough to be in the mix:
Tiger Woods needed to stay away from the tour after his surgery. As we all see, in hindsight, he came back too soon. As a layman of the game, he definitely needs to change his swing (exit his swing coach). So, the advertisement in the back of the golf magazine reads:
“Wanted: swing coach for an aspiring 2015 golfer. Expertise in avoiding explosive, turning, twisting back muscle movements a plus. Ability to advise golfer to leave the bazooka-style tee shots in the golf bag and keep the ball in play.”
Loosely translated, hit it down the middle of the fairway. It is time to throw the golfing world a curveball and finesse the game. Prescription: Give that back and determination a rest until next season and come out with a different swing approach.
