Community discussion to address death, dying

Gravestones at Greenmount Cemetery.

Hospice of Mercy, Four Corners Health Care, Cottonwood Inn Rehab, Sunshine Gardens and the Community Health Action Coalition will offer a free community discussion about death and dying, “Talking about Dying,” at 5 p.m. July 31, at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss ideas that shape how people think about death and dying. To facilitate the conversation, those who attend will respond to questions about what people want at the end of life; how family, culture, religion and beliefs shape ideas of death; and how certain situations affect decisions at the end of life.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Registration is required and space is limited.

To register, call 764-3999 or visit www.mercydurango.org/talkingaboutdying.
