The Durango High School volleyball team played four games in two days at the Glenwood Springs tournament over the weekend and pulled out a pair of victories.
The Demons played Mullen to start the tournament on Friday and won the first set, 25-19. Mullen, however, rallied to win the second set 26-24 and won the third set 15-4 to take the match.
Leah Wolf had 11 kills to lead Durango.
The Demons responded by beating Rifle 25-17 and 25-18, serving 10 aces in the two games. Aava Dreger led DHS with four aces, and Naomi Rowe served three.
The Demons then took down Basalt, 25-15 and 27-25. Dreger had 10 kills against the Longhorns, and Wolf hit nine.
Durango then concluded the tournament against the hosting Demons. Glenwood won the first set, 25-14, but Durango came back and won the second set, 25-10, to force a deciding Game 3. Glenwood, however, prevailed, 15-11, to take the match.
Dreger and Wolf both had six kills, and Brooklyn Messier and Wolf both had 17 digs in the loss.
The Demons are now 4-2 overall and will play their home opener at 5 p.m. Friday against Grand Junction (2-5).
