‘Do not change Main Avenue’

I moved to Aztec, New Mexico, a year ago and previously lived in Henderson, Nevada, for 30 years. Throughout those years, I spent a great deal of time visiting Durango and still do because I have relatives there. From the beginning of my travels to Durango, I loved its charm and Western feel. There’s been enough modernization already. Why is there a need for change? To turn it into every other citified town?

When people travel to other locales, they do so to experience something different and they don’t need to come to Durango to find a duplicate of the city they left. I implore those on this committee to stop. Save the money. Do not change Main Avenue.
