A driver hit and ran over a pedestrian on College Drive and East Second Avenue around 2:35 p.m. Saturday. The unnamed adult male patient was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center.

The unnamed male driver turned from Second Avenue onto College westbound, said Durango Police Department Sgt. Jeremiah Lee. The pedestrian was crossing College in the crosswalk when he was struck by the Jeep Laredo, Lee said.

Additional information was not available because the accident was still being investigated; however, Lee said the driver was cited.
