Durango Automotive Repair, formerly Durango Muffler and Brake, will host its fifth annual car giveaway.
Durango Automotive Repair, along with other local businesses, will give away a car to a local resident in need.
Residents may apply by picking up an application from the VFW Post 4031, 1550 Main Ave. or at Durango Automotive Repair, or by submitting a letter online at www.durangoautomotiverepair.com. The car giveaway is intended to help the community member that has the greatest need, and special considerations will be given to military veteran submissions. The application deadline is May 7.
The car will be given away during a ceremony held May 15 at the VFW Post 4031 parking lot. Cuevas Tacos will be on hand with their food truck to offer free food to all veterans, and a discounted menu to all other attendees.
This event is sponsored by Durango Automotive Repair, VFW, Animas Glass, Basin Printing and Cuevas Tacos. All proceeds go toward VFW to support the local veteran community.
