Durango breweries gear up for Collaboration Fests

Joe Hull, brewer at the small-batch Mod Brewery at Ska Brewing Co., brews this year’s collaboration beer with David Zuckerman, brewmaster at Boulder Beer Co., on Feb. 15 at Ska in Durango. The Coconut Curry Hefeweizen, with eight herbs and spices, will be served at the March 25 Collaboration Fest in Denver.

In advance of the fourth annual Collaboration Fest on March 25 in Denver, Ska and Steamworks have teamed up with other breweries to brew new beers.

Ska Brewing Co.’s Mod Brewery teamed up with Boulder Beer Co. to make a Coconut Curry Hefeweizen.

Steamworks teamed up with Dry Dock Brewing, out of Aurora, to make a an American light lager.

Carver Brewing Co. also teamed up with Glenwood Canyon Brewpub, of Glenwood Springs, and Thirst Colorado magazine to create a Barrel-Aged Wheatwine. This brew, as the name suggests, must age in the barrel, though, so they will be taking it to the 2018 Collaboration Festival.
