The Durango High School football team earned the No. 4 seed for the Class 3A state tournament and will host a first-round game Saturday.

Durango, which finished its regular season 8-2 overall and went undefeated in the 3A Southern League, will host No. 13 Evergreen (8-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday to start the tournament.

Evergreen finished third in the 3A North West, losing to No. 2 Lutheran and No. 14 Green Mountain during league play.

Roosevelt went 10-0 and earned the No. 1 seed, followed by Lutheran (10-0), Fort Morgan (8-1), Durango and No. 5 Mead (7-2).

The Durango-Evergreen winner will take on the winner of Mead and No. 12 Northridge in the second round.

Since Durango’s final regular-season home game against Mitchell was canceled, DHS will hold its senior celebrations before Saturday’s playoff at 12:15 p.m., allowing teams to still get their pregame preparations in before kickoff.
