Durango School District 9-R will host the Brain Expo from 5 to 7 p.m. May 17 at Fort Lewis College’s Student Union Building, 1000 Rim Drive.
Students from Duane Tucker’s sixth-grade language arts class at Escalante Middle School and Erica Dey’s seventh-graders from Miller Middle School will present projects about the human brain.
The projects will showcase student research about growing brain-friendly learning environments and how best to increase engagement, enjoyment and empowerment for optimal learning and success at school and in life. Student offerings will be diverse and will include Ted Talks, demonstrations and multimedia presentations.
