The playground at the Durango Community Recreation Center will be closed Nov. 27 through Dec. 8 while crews build a shade structure over the facility.
Some areas of the parking lot and sidewalk will intermittently be closed to allow for construction.
The city of Durango received $23,000 in resident donations to help fund the project.
