Durango School District 9-R is hosting a community event called “Kids Are Worth It: Parent education night on youth mental health & substance use.” The event is free and will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the DoubleTree Hotel ballroom.
The community is invited to learn about youth substance use and discover resources to help children have a safe summer. The event is a collaboration between Durango School District 9-R, Southwest Drug Task Force and Axis Health System.
National speaker and author Barbara Coloroso will discuss the role of the family in substance-use prevention.
This event is for adults, and everyone is welcome. There will be resource tables and refreshments. No reservations are needed.
