Four Corners Air Quality Group will organize a second public science forum to discuss methane and methane-related issues that affect the region, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
An air sample conducted during recent flyovers in the area found large methane fluctuations in the air. The group will also host its annual meeting from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave. The meeting will give updates about air-quality issues that affect the region. Topics will include monitoring trends analysis, ozone policy issues and updates about Four Corners and San Juan power plants.
