Durango volleyball wins in 5 at Cortez

It wasn’t easy, but the Durango High School volleyball team rallied for a 3-2 win over Montezuma-Cortez on Thursday in Cortez.

Durango dropped the first set before rallying for a 18-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-27, 15-7 victory.

“It was kind of crazy,” senior middle hitter Bella Bernazzani said. “I don’t want to say we’re a second-wind team, but it’s kind of what this season has been.”

Bernazzani led DHS with nine kills, and Jessie Brammer had eight. Logan Clark had 23 assists and Gabi Razma 22 digs for DHS (6-7, 3-2 Southwestern League).
