Archaeological society announces events

San Juan Basin Archaeological Society announces upcoming events:

The group will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Lyceum at the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College. The speaker will be John Condie, professor of biology at FLC. He will give a talk, called “Genetic Archaeology: Delving for Relics in the DNA.”

The society’s holiday celebration and party will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 10 in the ballroom at FLC. The party will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. with a cash bar and appetizer table followed by dinner and program activities. Dinner will be buffet-style and will include salad, dinner rolls, tea and coffee and dessert. The cost will not exceed $35 per person. Activities will include a program featuring a review of 2015 archaeological society activities, introduction of new society members, door prizes, election of 2016 chapter officers, silent auction and more.
