Fifteen chances ought to be enough

Any time somebody gets 15 chances to succeed and is unable to do so, it is time to try something else. If the girl of your dreams gives you 15 chances to invite her to the senior prom and you can’t succeed, you should go someplace else. If your bowling buddy gives you 15 chances to pick up a 7-10 split and you can’t do it, you’re not cut out for bowling. In golf, if you’re given 15 chances to make a 12-inch putt and you fail, throw away your golf clubs.

Perhaps your weapon of choice for home protection is an assault rifle with a 15-round clip. If an intruder breaks into your home, you have 15 chances to convince that intruder to leave, either on his own or on a stretcher, with a destination of either the hospital or the morgue. If you cannot achieve success within 15 chances to do so, you are a menace to society, and you should not have possession of such a weapon. If you cannot achieve home defense success within 15 chances, you should not even be allowed to possess a single-shot BB gun.
