Oral-health training opportunities available

San Juan Basin Health announces its dental hygienist and regional oral-health specialist, Kari Plante.

She recently earned her master trainer certification for the Cavity Free at Three Program.

This certification allows Plante to provide this training to local health-care providers.

Cavity Free at Three seeks to end early childhood cavities by improving access to oral-health care.

It also provides education to families about oral health.

Plante will reach out to dental practices, pediatricians and other medical providers in La Plata and Archuleta counties for free training opportunities.

Oral-health meetings will be hosted by Citizens Health Advisory Council.

An education and planning meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Commons Building, 701 Camino del Rio.

An Oral Health Summit will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. April 4 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

To RSVP for the summit, visit www.chaclaplata.org/oralhealth.asp.
