Three Springs receives recognition
San Juan Basin Health Department, with nomination from Celebrating Healthy Communities Coalition, awarded its Healthy Event Seal of Approval to the Outdoor Movie Night and Fall Festival hosted by Three Springs. These safe and healthy community events were hosted June 27 and Oct. 25, respectively. Both events were free, open to the public and featured activities that catered to families with younger children.
The organizers were awarded the Seal of Approval at a staff meeting Nov. 17.
San Juan Basin Health will present its Seal of Approval to any organization that holds a public event that is entirely alcohol-free; appropriate for children, youth and/or families; and is affordable for all participants.
To nominate a group or organization to be awarded the Seal of Approval, email Cindy Schultz at cschultz@sjbhd.org.
Farmington hospital receives accreditation
San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital has achieved national accreditation from DNV Healthcare Inc.
This hospital accreditation program is the only one approved by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that integrates the International Organization for Standardization 9001 Quality Management System with the Medicare conditions of participation.
The accreditation program requires hospitals to evaluate the continuum of patient care and take measured steps to improve when it is warranted.
Being accredited allows San Juan Regional Medical Center to receive reimbursement for its patients covered by Medicare and Medicaid.
