Free class to help prediabetes patients

Mercy Regional Medical Center will offer a free class to people with prediabetes from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday in Suite 140.

People with prediabetes are at a higher risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Sheena Carswell and Marge Morris will teach participants to effectively manage the condition, which can help prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes.

To register, call Jan Wesley at 764-2720.

Release tension with these exercises

Physical therapist Rick Stockwell will give a free talk about Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Inhabit (Riverside Professional Building), 1970 East Third Ave.

These exercises evoke a self-induced therapeutic tremor in the body, which discharges stress or tension accumulated from difficult situations, immediate or prolonged stressful situations, traumatic life experiences or everyday circumstances.

A free TRE class will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 11 at Inhabit.

For this class, advance registration is required, and class size is limited.

For more information, visit www.SunrisePhysicalTherapy.com or call 749-5308.
