United Blood Services will host these blood drives:

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 3 in the gym of Dolores High School, 1301 Central, Dolores.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 910 East Third Ave.

2 to 6:15 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Silverton Recreation Center on 14th Street in Silverton.

2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 5 at the First Methodist Church, 515 N. Park, Cortez.

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 7, 21 and from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 9, 23 at the United Blood Services’ Office, 1970 East Third Ave., Suite 107.

Noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Dolores Riverside Center, 400 Riverside Ave., Dolores.

2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Cross Road Community Church, 1044 Park Ave., Pagosa Springs.

Workout contest to fight breast cancer

The Vault, a gym in Durango, will host a friendly team workout competition to benefit the fight against breast cancer.

“Pushing for a Cure” will be held Saturday. The workout is for teams of four athletes (two of which need to be females). Each team’s $50 entry fee will go directly to Mercy Regional Medical Center’s Breast Care Center.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the heats will start at 9 a.m.

Teams can consist of all abilities of men and women older than 18; teams can come as a four-some, or people without a full team can fill their team that day. The event will feature door prizes, food and drinks.
