Healthy Communities Coalition to host picnic

The San Juan Basin Health Department’s Celebrating Healthy Communities Coalition will host a picnic from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Shoshone Park in Ignacio.

Participants should bring their own picnic and a fruit or vegetable item to share in a common salad. Drinks will be provided.

Participants will learn how the coalition supports youth in avoiding risky behaviors. A short meeting will highlight the coalition’s accomplishments in 2013-14, and participants will be asked about upcoming activities. There will be music and games.

San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington is offering $40 sports and school physicals at two of its locations: San Juan Health Partners Family Medicine and San Juan Health Partners Urgent Care.
