Pet therapy program will recruit dogs
Mercy Regional Medical Center’s Volunteer Services will host a recruitment event for Mercy Super Dogs, a pet therapy program, from 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 10 at the medical center, 1010 Three Springs Blvd., in Conference Room A on the garden level.

Hospice of Mercy offers grief support
Hospice of Mercy will offer a 10-week grief support group for people who have experienced the death of a loved one.
The group will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings, beginning Tuesday at Mercy Regional Medical Center, 1010 Three Springs Blvd.

Heart Safe La Plata to provide classes
Heart Safe La Plata, a nonprofit organization, will offer an adult CPR/AED class from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 4 and a CPR Pro class from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 11, both will take place at Durango Fire & Rescue Station 1, 142 Sheppard Drive.

Free class to address living with prediabetes
People with prediabetes can attend a free class by Sheena Carswell and Marge Morris from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 5 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, 1010 Three Springs Blvd., in Suite 140.
Participants will learn how to manage prediabetes and how to prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes.

Resolving allergies will be discussed
Licensed acupuncturist Caleb Gates will give a presentation called “Resolving Sinusitis, Food Sensitivities and Airborne Allergies” at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
Gates will speak about Advanced Allergy Therapeutics, a safe, non-invasive treatment to resolve allergy symptoms.
